Since, our ‘Guess Who Is It?” game earlier this week, I couldn’t help but think a little bit about Genealogy, which is one of Virginia’s greatest passions…it’s definitely more than just a hobbie for her and she has traced her roots back to know that she like most of us has many different nationalities that help make her who she is today. She found out that her 4th great grandfather signed his name on the Bill Of Rights. Virginia even has a copy on her living room wall as a visual reminder of how important it is to her to know where she came from and her family history…She was a member of the Orange County Genealogical Society when she lived in California.
After thinking about it for a few minutes, there are so many different resources available to those researching their genealogy, even Face Book and Skype are working on building genealogy communities to help people all around the world. There are Family Search Centers just about everywhere today.
Not sure where to start??? You could even try the local churches to see what resources they have available. My advice is to simply start. Once you do that you will be amazed at how much you can find out and how quickly it can come together, with the right resources. Good luck with your searching!
